Hmmm ....

Noah goes to jail for both Helen and Alison and it seems he did something for his sister 30 years ago, along with caring for his mother ... does anyone else see a pattern of behavior here ???

What could his sister have done? Had a pregnancy terminated, injured her mother, burnt dinner, accidentally killed the cat ???

reply

Noah went to prison to relieve his own conscious. I do not think he did it for either of them. He's not a noble man.

reply

So you think he feels guilty about the way he treats the women in his life?

reply

What happened. Noah was in prison in Ep.2 and Ep. 3 it's years later and there are characters never seen in any of the other episodes. What happened to him in prison? How did they get out? What happened to his wife? Who's this French woman?

reply

Yes, something is happening with the sister too. We don't know what it is yet, but I can't wait to find out.

reply

Right now I'm guessing he took care of their mother while she couldn't be bothered. Perhaps she feels intense guilt and feels she owes him greatly,

reply

Noah has a martyr complex and sees himself as messianic in that he pays the price for the sins of others. His sister's sin of ditching their terminally ill mother for Noah to care for and watch die. His father for his cruelty, coldness, harshness and self-aggrandizement that he didn't step out on his terminally ill wife, even though it seems like he did NOTHING for her as she died. Taking it from Helen's parents to keep Helen in a manner she's become accustomed to. Going to prison to protect Alison, and whether he'd like to admit it or not, also Helen.

Excellent diagnosis, Doctor!
