Final shot of the episode (Spoiler)

So when the cab driver asked Noah where he wanted to go, the shot ends, but I could have sworn he was going to say Montauk. He had that look like he was about to pronounce something starting with an "M".

I believe the Juliette thing is done. He left her in Paris for her to be with her daughter and pretty much ended that relationship.

If there is a season 4, they need to wrap the story with Allison, Cole and Noah.

I get the feeling that the Helen thing is done too as if Maura is leaving the show, but who knows.

Do you think he's going to Montauk next season to win back Allison?

reply

I think it was purposefully ambiguous.

I personally felt that there was a conflict happening in his head right now. Should he go back and try to win his family back ? Should he try to contact Alison ?

The episode was great, too bad it left what happened between it and the previous episode in suspense.

My interpretation of that scene is that Noah is face, suddenly, with the realization that after all is said and done he has no one and nowhere to go. He was literally speechless.

I completely agree with you... after all the gambles, risks, success, failure, he is an island to himself.

Probably next season will be Noah's personal comeback season... one where Descent is being made into a movie and forces him to Montauk and all the characters will be near each other for something to happen.

Clean slate.

Now they can go anywhere, and do anything.

Should be fantastic!

I feel like Noah is in exactly the same position as Cole - should he be with a woman whom he likes and has things in common with and have a "nice" life or should he risk everything to be with someone who is wild and makes him feel alive.

Personally, I don't see the connection between Noah and Alison but it was always purported that he was madly in love with her, so that's how I have to take his situation.

I also think that he's more alone than ever now - his family and Helen don't really need him, Alison doesn't want him and Juliette has other priorities at the moment. He should start a new life but I think he re-tread his past mistakes and try to win Alison back.

Yes, I thought he was going to say Montauk and then he got a blank look on his face like he doesn't know where he belongs. I also agree that the relationship (and storyline) is over with Juliette. The look they gave each other when she and her daughter were getting into the car said "goodbye." Next season should pick up with Noah's art again - either the release of his new book or his first being made into a movie.
