Breaking News: Noah is all fixed!!!!!

Ok so. let me get this straight.

We just spent a whole season watching Noah spiral down into drug addiction and psychosis, so naturally for the finale we have jumped a few months into the future and all of the issues we've built up to have magically been resolved by Juliette???

I'm sorry but I was enjoying seeing Noah fall apart and will feel very cheated if he is just normal and healthy again without us having been there for the journey.

Also I'm really sad we're not going to see Cole and Alison more in the finale. Noah is the least likable character and the one who gets the most screen time.

Yes. This show seems to have totally jumped the shark. Sarah Treem has no idea what she's doing.

Actually, the show being called "The Affair" as until this point always reflected that we see in roughly equal parts the points of view of Alison and Noah, the two people who took part in the affair. This season, Noah got exactly TWICE as much screentime as Alison (1 full ep + 6 half eps vs. 4 half eps). Let that sink in.

I think we just witnessed the impetus for his "healing." Not interested in watching a bunch of episodes with him talking to his psychiatrist and getting better. He already did the work - walked through his delusions and faced some truths.

Ugh yes this. It's bad enough it took this much time to get to the root of the issue. I do NOT want to spend any more time watching him talk about it and deal with it. Let's get on with the story!

I think the point is, Noah isn't all fixed, but he thinks he is, after only a couple of months.

you might be onto something there

reply

If only.

It appears the show has completely disregarded this, as well as so many other things that once made it a compelling and interesting show.

Meh.

The previous episode shed a lot of doubt on whether he helped his mother die because she wanted to or whether he rushed the process along so that he could go off to college. Was that his guilt over helping her coming out, or did he actually kill her? Would like to see that resolved.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
