People on this board deeply afraid of change

Was there really something else that could be chewed over with Alison, Cole, and Luisa? Some other revelation Helen could come to? We know their stories inside and out, just go around and around and around with them. Meanwhile we barely had a glimpse of Juliette's dilemma with her husband, barely knew anything of her life; now we're launched into a fresh, fascinating world of Parisian domestic life and academia, with a strong actress taking us there, not just moping in Montauk for the eighty billionth time. Thank God Noah is finally pulling himself together, reconciling with his family and moving on. Let's join him.

I agree with you totally. I loved the addition of Juliette, and the season finale. Irene Jacob gave a moving performance. I was so glad that Noah's wound finally healed, both figuratively and literally.

reply

Except for the fact that Noah can never seem to completely pull himself together and stay that way. He's sure to screw up soon enough.

Nobody is afraid of change but why change the original concept and synopsis of the show completely?

reply

No one said Noah was perfect; if he wasn't flawed he'd be pretty dull.

Actually, they haven't changed the original concept. It's about an affair; Juliette was having one with Noah while her husband was alive. She'll probably be dealing with the psychological repercussions of that very soon.

And the original synopsis of the show was growing very, very stale.

Broken. Record.

I agree.

reply

Yes, the show was getting tiresome, glad you agree.

reply

Follow your logic, new show with new actirs to a diiferent script, therefore what is the point of The Affair and its storyline, perhaps that was the message in the finale, this is pointless.

reply

I LOVED seeing Noah *see* himself. And I hated that it was the last episode of the dang season.

Oh but they did allow us to see Pissy Luisa and Cranky Cole a million times. Lucky us! Was that really necessary? Lol

I'm hoping season four brings us more growth for Noah. He deserves it. He's a good man.

afraid? 

reply

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out that whole "afraid" concept, as well.

The bottom line is that the show has run out of gas, introduced a ludicrous story line this year because it had nowhere left to go, and should be cancelled.

This. The OP sounds like a Grade A shill.

the show hasn't even really changed is what he's saying, Noah, who's a writer created Gunther and Juliette in his mind from teaching he learned from Alison. It's actually really awesome, Noah's a New Waver remember.

You see the destruction that she-beast laid? I'm being risk-averse, considering.

You have a real active imagination. And that's great. But honestly...you're off on another planet in your analyses. And either you know that, and it's a big joke. Or else you don't know it, and then it's just really sad.

I can only go by your posts, which are riddled with statements like: "Well, this character doesn't really exist, it's only a manifestation of Noah's mind. And THAT character doesn't really exist, it's only a manifestation of Noah's mind. Etc. Etc. Etc. You've basically eliminated at least 3 or 4 characters according to your "theory". It's pretty absurd, if you ask me.
