I loved the finale. And season 3.

I loved the finale.

I liked the French (probably because it's my first language) and I love that they chose real French actors and actresses instead of wannabe's like Megan's parents in Mad Men.

I loved that the french wasn't subtitled from Noah's point of view. It was much funnier seeing as Juliette's friends were more graphic when they thought Noah couldn't understand.

I liked Juliette's backstory. I love that we got to see a more empathetic side to Noah.

Season 3 felt like the logical undoing of everything that happened in the first 2 seasons. It was about consequences.

And that made sense.

I didn't mind the senior Calvets in "Mad Men" not being played by French actors, particularly Ronald Guttman, as he's played plenty of Frenchmen. (Just watched a film yesterday, in fact.) If I were French, maybe I'd feel otherwise. Of course, in "The Affair," the two leads are English, and I like them. (Well, I like West; I tolerate Wilson, lol.)

I like Juliette's character and the Paris scenes (even though my French is terrible). It's just that this season felt disjointed as a whole. I appreciate the structure of the POVs staying the same, and it has been interesting to see many of the main characters' interactions still, as well as to learn Noah's dark past. But it was handled so chaotically, including his hallucinations, it took me out of it a bit. Then the finale plops Noah in Paris with no real resolution from all we had invested in seeing for two months. Just a reference to him getting some R&R after having essentially a mental collapse months prior.

How disnjointed and chaotic it was made Juliette's storyline not fit as well as it may have otherwise. It just hasn't felt like known characters were treated with the same respect of season one and two. It felt like a cheesy thriller with some side plots sprinkled in. I'll still watch season four, but season three took the show in a weird direction.

Wow. (Clearly you've followed this show from the beginning and have posted throughout. NO WAY you could just pop up out of the blue with such an insightful post. NO WAY.)

Check it! haha

You see the destruction that she-beast laid? I'm being risk-averse, considering.

Me too, I loved the heart warming scenes between Noah and Whitney and as a massive Paris fan (I visited it 4 times), I enjoyed it and I speak French (even rusty unfortunately), so it was great to hear the language :)
