noticed something about quality

The air date or order and the quality of the episodes have an inverse relationship. In season one and two the best episodes were always one, two, and three and the worst were four, five and six.

These are listed in the order that they aired.

1. Sardines
2. A Quiet Night In
3. Tom & Gerri
4. Last Gasp
5. The Understudy
6. The Harrowing

1. La Couchette
2. 12 Days of Christine
3. The Trial of Elizabeth Gadge
4. Cold Comfort
5. Nana's Party
6. Seance Time

I would rank each season roughly in that order. I really don't understand how the same people who wrote "A Quiet Night In" also wrote "Seance Time" but they seem to have a pattern of putting the best first and saving the scraps for last.

I would say Cold Comfort is a bad one.

That's what I mean. That's in the last three.

Sorry, what I want to say is I would not say Cold Comfort is a bad one. I think it's a good episode from Series 2, but I'm not so keen on La Couchette, the first episode of the series.

I thought La Couchette was a stronger episode. It really doesn't compare to A Quiet Night in or the 12 Days of Christine, but it was decent. Cold Comfort went with a cliche ending and that seems to be the model for the lesser episodes. They can't tie up the ending and they just resort to some silly Tales From the Crypt trope.
