Terrible ending, made the movie overall 'eh" (probably spoilers)

With a movie like this you hope for something a little better.

The movie plods along, and since we're given to believe that everything in the photo has to happen, there's not really much thought put into the whole predestination thing till the end. The pacing is a little wrong as well, but in a way that seems to lead up to something.

But no, not so much. So we spend the movie thinking if they change time, Bad Things, then it turns out not really, and we're told someone's changing things, but then oops, turns out she can't.

Anticlimactic and not the payoff I'd hoped for after sitting through that. The camera was a new twist at least.

That's a fair set of comments. It just reminds us why "independent" movies seldom can compete head-to-head with bigger movies from well-known writers and directors. It is very difficult to make a really exceptional movie.

True. Talent is really rare, and this is harder than it looks. At least now with digital, the barriers to making it at least are lower.

The camera showing the future and thereby becoming prophecy is not a new idea. I'm not sure how far back it goes! Definitely remember seeing a Twilight Zone from the '60s with the same concept. It could go back as much as a couple hundred years or so in literature.

Anyway, in this story, they could in fact effectively make the past happen. The gambler's ability to give himself wins demonstrated that.

Callie just failed.

Disagree. The ending I thought was perfect. That there was an affair months ago, that there were 8 am photos, that the last message taped to the window fell off, absolutely brilliant. It was precisely the payoff that was needed after an exhilarating 90 minutes.

I'm with the OP

This movie could have been great but it just had so many logic missteps.

Its almost as if they characters were clinically retarded. Like come on seriously.

After the old man died, why in the hell would they pay his bills, water his flowers, move his car and lie about where he is. As soon as the body is found, which lets face it, it would have eventually. Its not hard for a coroner to determine time of death. As soon as people realise you've been lying, automatically under suspicion. They would have been better off not saying ANYTHING at all. Yes they would probably only get 3-4 days max out of the camera. but come on if you cant make a fortune with even one sure bet into the future, you are a moron. One lottery ticket please.
