Final Episode Question (spoilers)

So in the last episode, the Judge tells Clark that there must be consequences for her actions against Cadogan during the test. But what is the point of consequences if every other human being in the universe has transcended? Who is she being made an example to so they do not follow in her footsteps? No corporeal creature will ever know what she did, so the punishment is irrelevant. Sort of like the tree falling in the woods, does it make a sound if no one is there to hear it?

reply

Agreed. Also the true test for transcendence would have been humanity doing things the right way or better way on Sanctum, as Monty believed. Rebuilding civilization peacefully. Everyone just transcended, a few came back but are sterile, and Clarke is the last fertile human in existence. The end of the human race. They all should of just stayed on the ark and suffocated.

reply

It makes no sense to judge a whole species by one individual, it makes no sense to change your mind and think said species is ready for transcendence just because they avoided one conflict. Nothing about the motivations and actions of these Gods make any sense to begin with. That's never been the strong part of the show anyways.

reply

Maybe that made it more realistic, as I cannot explain the motivations and actions of any of our Earthly gods.

reply

"God’s ways are inscrutable."

reply

The last episodes reminded to Goethe's Faust.
Goethe struggled for years with Faust's right ending.
He himself found the result unsatisfyingly. 😇

reply

The show deceived it's audience. We thought it was about survival of human race. But instead it was about extinction of human race.

reply

Nope, the "human race" (most part of it) reached a new level of existence.
Transcendence! 😇

☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️ --> 7 clouds for 7 seasons.
Well, for special reasons 9 seasons would've been better. ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

Btw. it's nice of you that you reactivated this your account after 2 years to reply to me. 🤘🏼

reply

Transcendence is a fancy way of saying human race is extinct. Judge said there could be no offspring.

PS I reactivate the account only because of the show NOT because of YOU!

reply

That's your perspective "extinct".
Transcendence with "no offspring" doesn't mean that humanhood is gone.

And I didn't talk about my person.

We still don't know what transcendence is. To me it is very similar to Matrix. More specifically one of the earlier versions of Matrix that Smith talked about where everyone was happy.
