show jumped the shark, i wonder if it can recover?

the show runner is an egomaniac but got some major criticism for last season, I wonder how season 4 turns out, i'm guessing he rips off a storyline from another sci-fi show

reply

he didn't "rip" anything off. Such a lame and tired critism to say someone "ripped" something off when All stories at this point are derivative of/inspired by something else.

reply

He got criticism from a bunch of vocal people who didnt appear to watch the show live as ratings barely dropped(meant ng that couldve been due to just it being the spring). No one outside of shippers were all that upset with this season. It couldve been better, but it hasnt come close to jumping the shark.

reply

Please stop with the tired, BS Meme that only shippers hated this season. Grow up. The season was an awful mess, beyond the Clexa stuff. I guarantee you the ratings will sink in S4 and that has nothing to do with Clexa.

reply

"Awful mess" is a huge exaggeration though. It was average/mediocre at worst.

reply

In YOUR opinion which you are welcome to have. In MY Opinion it was an awful, irredeemable mess. Look up the definition of opinion.

I'm with you. S3 was ALL OVER THE PLACE. *beep* to the max. It's like Rothenberg went batsh*t after he realized how much he messed up with the death of Lexa. (When realistically he didn't have to kill her...he simply could have had her character run off by her tribe as she was a crap leader anyway.) And no, I'm not a Clexa person.

I truly can't think of another show that's gone from amazing to utterly wtf as this one. Don't get me wrong. I still love it for its entertainment appeal. But that's all it is now. In comparison to any GOOD show I've seen, I've never seen so many characters change their character from ep to ep as this one. Bellamy is the best example. Who is he? In one ep he's the good guy. In the next he's bad. In the next he's a traitor... repeat. The only character who's remained true to their character is Clarke. Which is kind of too bad, as I find her righteousness annoying as hell. Good leader or not.

That doesn't make sense. He didn't realise how much he'd messed up until well after the entire season had been filmed.

The only character who's remained true to their character is Clarke.

Don't agree. She went from being a strong, ruthless leader to a lovestruck teenager.

This comment makes absolutely no sense. Don't you know that the entire season was filmed BEFORE it was even released? How could Rothenberg go bath*t about messing up with death of Lexa if he had no idea what the reaction was going to be since everything was filmed before airing??????

And as for your comment about him simply having her character run off by her tribe??? How ludicrous is that? She was a strong character which is why everyone liked her so much- You really think it would make any sense at all to have her just run off by her tribe? To what end? She obviously is still on her other show "FOTWD". We were lucky enough to have her for 7 episodes and there was absolutely no guarantee that she would ever be allowed by "FOTWD" to come back to film for "The 100" again. So what would the purpose be of having her run off by her tribe???

LOL, I already said that!

I know, but it was worth repeating when someone else makes such a stupid comment.

reply

YOU should grow up a little bit. The poor writing this season is off the charts. Too much inconsistencies, and stupid behaviors and dumnb characters build upt so that ALIE storyline can work. Yeah ALIE storyline could only work with these criterions :
- a dumb idiotic fascist who appears from the woods, and became leader too easily too quickly
- a stupid fake new leader for the grounders, so that she will accept without any question to take ALIE chip (she had to be really really stupid)
- a stupid and weak moron who became AGAIN a bloody mass murderer and getting excuses for being stupid&weak&immoral just because he's one of the main cast
- an AI who weirdly made stupid decisions instead of being efficient
-
-..
the list is dammn too long, .....

For you people complaining about the show, if you don't like it then don't watch it. But leave the rest of us to enjoy the show.

For the life of me I can't understand people who either don't watch the show anymore coming here to complain about it. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT ANYMORE THEN STOP WATCHING IT!! Thats what most normal people do when the don't like a show anymore.

reply

So you mean that only people who love everything about the show should post comments here ?? What a stupid filter would that be. So no discussion about what could be improved, just a dumb forum with bunch of worshippers ? What's the fun in that ?

reply

No of course it shouldn't be only people who love everything about the show (are there any people like that?) and discussion about what could be improved is fine. But what I find unpleasant to read is your (and Malexandria's) continuous hatred of Bellamy. To me he's a many layered, complex character who has always TRIED to do the right thing and, admittedly, sometimes failed. You insist on always describing him as murderous moron. You say he killed 300 people AGAIN. When did he do it before? If you mean the 300 that were floated from the Ark, he didn't know anything about that. Yes, if he hadn't destroyed the radio, they could have let the Ark know that they were alive but he didn't KNOW that.

Incidentally, I've just read an article criticising the Emmy panel for ignoring all CW shows and it particularly mentioned Bob Morley and Eliza Taylor as two who should have been nominated. It was extremely complimentary about Bob's acting skills in season 3, saying he portrayed all of Bellamy's conflicting emotions brilliantly.

sometimes failed

Yeah obviously it was "just a mistake" from him, poor dude. Now let him just say "sorry it was a mistake" to the people who's lost parents, brothers, sisters, children,...
It was just plain revenge, he admitted it...so I won't let him off the hook for that.

What he wanted to do back then, is to prevent the other people from the Ark to ever come to the ground, B wanted them to think that it was not inhabitable at all. He did not know about the culling decision but HE KNEW that the survavibility of them all was to reach the ground, even for the 100 that for the other Arkers. And that's why it was awful as hell! He wanted to risk everyone's else lives just to save his own ass, the most selfish act ever.

The acting was good, but that's NOT the point here. It's just that the character is stupid, weak, narrow minded like hell, and was willing to kill every grounders he could (just by revenge); and he never tried to understand the grounders for once, even if his own sister had found a home amoung them, Lincoln included. And that's what wrong.

reply

I haven't posted on this stupid board in weeks, but since you mentioned me Bellamy HASN'T always tried to do the right thing. 90% of the time he has done what was best for BELLAMY and Octavia. To say he's always tried is just stupid. Let's recap -

He tried to kill Jaha to get on the ship - purely selfish motive, to protect Octavia, but really it was to feed his ego.

When he got to the ground he didn't give a damn about the 100, he only cared about being in control.

He tried to force everyone to take off their wristbands even though Clarke told him it was the only way to let them know he was alive. Just to save his own ass.

He threw away the radio, again, just to save his own ass.

At the end of the season he rallied everyone to fight instead of doing the sensible thing and leaving, just because he finally had guns and was able to exert control.

This is season 1 Bellamy.

--------------

Season 2 Bellamy lost power when the adults came down and he was desparately trying to win Kane over, which was for his own power trip.

In season 3 everything he did was based on the fact that he was angry and then he just couched it with the lame "I'm protecting my people." BS when anyone with an ounce of sense would see that starting an unnecessary war was STUPID.
