Season 3

I recently rewatched the 100 from start to finish, after losing interest around when 3x04 aired. Season 1 and 2 reminded me why I loved this show, it's so underrated but season 3 was very love/hate. Here are a few reasons:

Pike! My god how frustrating was his character. After seeing everything our characters went through in the first 2 seasons, his introduction and his view on the grounders made me want to punch my screen. I understand his point of view, farm station landed in the ice nation so they have had to kill or be killed but they're not in ice nation any more so just stop! The way he always saw the grounders as a threat was unnecessary and kinda made his scenes unwatchable.

Bellamy! Oh, bellamy. You had a rough season my man. I felt sorry for him with gina's death despite the fact we didn't know her that well but his whole reason for joining pike was just beyond me. His hatred for ALL grounders just came out of nowhere, it was only echo and the ice nation. Given his relationship to Lincoln and his love for his sister it just seems strange that he should go down a path that would put him at such odds with everyone. The rest of the season was just him blindly following whoever came along. He has good intentions but his execution is poor.

Alie. Does anyone else get sick of AI storylines on apocalyptic shows. If anyone has seen revolution you know what I'm taking about. The whole mind control zombie thing. Come on. The concept of the city if light was pretty cool but wasn't fully capitalised on. That said, it's out of the way now the show can move on.

They were my main points of why season 3 bothered me. Just some little tidbits:
Can Clarke do no wrong? She always seems to have the right idea and save the day, have her badly screw up. Please.
Octavia continues to be a stone cold killer. Really excited for her assassin arc next season.
Raven. Can the damn girl get a break! She's gone through hell. Although get getting fully controlled by Alie was incredible to watch.
Jasper and Monty. Can they just be best friends again. I want to see some more humour.
Kabby. Totally didn't see it coming but I'm down.
Finally, I know I've kept you a while but I wanted to give my opinion on the 3 big deaths. Lincoln's death I think was necessary for the story as they'd run out of things to do with him but I was disappointed in the way he died. Felt he deserved more.
Lexa's death was completely ridiculous and annoying but important for the AI storyline. Was bummed to see her die, she was an awesome character.
Pike, well he needed to die. Should have died sooner and in a much more painful way but at least Octavia got her revenge.

Just sharing my thoughts, there were many needless deaths, even Sinclair died! What!? But even so, hyped for season 4, hopefully a great season is incoming! Oh,btw John Murphy rules

I think a lot of people lost interest at 3x04. It felt like a completely different show at that point. I agree with a lot of your criticisms. The show seemed to get back to normal in the second half of season 3 and the writers are saying season 4 is reminiscent of season 1 so I'm thinking it'll get better!

Agreed. Felt all over the place. But (I forget when) but story lines did come together. And In the end it kinda blew my mind. Just might rewatch season 3 becuase it would be nice to see it from a different perspective, knowing the outcome.

I agree with most of your criticism but regarding Bellamy. It was not only Echo's betrayal and Gina's death what pushed him to blindly side Pike. He and his people had already been betrayed by the Commander and also Clarke, his best friend seemed to live placidly in Polis with Lexa, oblivious to her own people problems, at Bellamy's eyes, of course. I'm not justifying his decision but all of it triggered him to take a wrong path. Also his story arc was poorly developed and therefore hard to understand.

"Can Clarke do no wrong? She always seems to have the right idea and save the day, have her badly screw up. Please. "

Agreed. She remembered me of those Marvell heroines who, no matter how screwed up is everything, always end up saving the day.

**Spoiler**
It drove me nuts how long it took for Clarke to finally pull the kill switch up in the space station!

While she was having a long drawn out chat with bad AI and the creator chick, all of her friends were just about to be slaughtered. She even dangerously waited until there was one or two seconds left!

After all the hell she went through just to get to that point, had she not pulled the switch, I'd probably have stopped watching the show.
