Stopped watching after the second lesbian scene with Clarke and whoever

The first time, it was a kiss. The next time, with someone else, it was full on lesbian sex. I don't have a problem watching two women I don't care about having sex in a porno, but when they corrupt a show I was enjoying unnecessarily with this crap to boost ratings, that's it for me. I'm probably in the minority here but that's how I feel.

reply

And a lot of people have stopped watching because the female/female relationship is now over. Just goes to prove, you can't please all of the people all of the time.

reply

Yes but some people stop watching because of things like homophobia - idk, maybe it's just me, but that's a group of people you should never try to please.

reply

I hear ya. I was so ready to stop watching it after Clarke and Finn unnecessarily had sex in S1. But, I carried on. And then, Finn and Raven also had sex in S1- what were they thinking with this unnecessary plot and character development twist, gross! Raven and Bellamy had sex- well I NEVER! The outrage! Then Murphy with Ontari AND Emori- dude has no moral compass and can't remain monogamous.... trash tv. TRASH I TELL YOU!

People have sex, it happens even in a post apocalyptic world... Guess the writers felt that all of the sexual encounters meant something within the parameters of the show. So I ask, are you more upset that it's gay sex- because there's been a sh*t ton more straight sex happening in this series, yet you mention nada. So...???
😱

reply

Yeah I don't care for the gay sex. I don't find that's it's a necessary element to make a show good.

reply

Except it's in no way meant to be a "necessary element to make [the] show good". It's already been good before, as you yourself said you enjoyed the show until this "incident" happened. The characters are so much more than their sexual orientation, and the show is too.

reply

It's two fold. Even before the girl on girl I was getting tired of the Clarke character. I hate it when she says "my people".
If it wasn't the main female character doing the girl on girl, but rather a secondary character, it wouldn't annoy as much.
People in my household still watch The 100 because they're only on S 3 ep 8, so in a way I'm half paying attention.
I freaking loved the show in beginning.

reply

So you're really going to let 1 same sex kissing scene and 2 implied same sex scenes ruin the show THAT much for you? You do realize there has been far more straight sex shown in this series, yet you say it's the gay sex that is forced down your throat... interesting. I guess I don't know what else to say at this point other than your protests of NOT being homophobic have fallen on deaf ears because the words you speak ARE homophobic. And.... "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

"This organism and derivative genetic material is restricted intellectual property."

reply

Main character gay sex (in this show for you) is a no-go, secondary character gay sex not so much... Sorry, but that's too deep for me.

And I freaking love the show since the beginning and probably will until it ends, with all its actual flaws.

^ Same. The characters are intriguing, they are deeply flawed but they try their best to protect the people that they care about and they try their best to be/do good but it just doesn't work out that well. 

reply

I'm with you- I was absolutely blown away by how good this show is. I'm a huge Orphan Black fan and I've been on the hunt for another show that is as enthralling to me. I've tried many shows to no avail. And then- I tried The 100. I was sucked in pretty much from the start. I binge watched and some nights I had to stop myself so I could sleep. It's a smart show that's pretty original and well acted. I love the big sci fi turn of S3- excellent. I can't wait for S4!

Part of your post has been quoted by someone I follow on Twitter, objecting to the fact that you said that Murphy and Ontari had sex. They insist that it was rape.

reply

Murphy and EMORI? unless they made a mistake and actually mean Ontari, people really will get upset over everything

reply

Ah, my mistake. I meant Ontari.

reply

Oh okay that makes more sense :P it's still weird that someone is quoting this stuff on twitter

reply

No use trying to rationalize with a homophobe. It's pretty gross to see how many people actually still believe this stuff. I surround myself with pretty progressive people so it's easy to forget the extent of the bigotry in the world.

reply

I see what you're saying, point well taken. No sense in feeding the debate if I'll never agree with OP. Besides, everyone has a right to their opinions.

"This organism and derivative genetic material is restricted intellectual property."

reply

You shouldn't agree with OP! I grew up in a small town and I've just had this conversation way too many times. It's impossible to convince someone that they're wrong if they've been taught to be homophobic since they were born, especially if they believe it because of their religion. I don't really think people are entitled to their opinion when it comes to discrimination..I just think it's impossible to argue logic when their opinion isn't logical.

reply

As a member of the LGBT community- I totally agree with you. I was just.... holding back so as to not "feed the troll" of homophobia. As you said- there really is no changing the mind of someone whose ideals are so deeply ingrained.

"This organism and derivative genetic material is restricted intellectual property."

reply

Yeah, it's the same with racism. It's so internalized that they don't even think about it as something wrong.

Hahahaha this guy cracks me up. Jerkin' it off to lesbian porn but scenes like two girls kissing or a sex scene WHERE YOU CAN'T SEE ANY NUDITY sets you off to the point where you can't watch the show anymore because of "corruption." What a load of *beep* LOL

Nothing is being forced down your throat, dude. Get over yourself. Change the channel. Or is there someone holding you at gun point forcing you to watch? And who the hell is "they"?

You sinner ;)

reply

True story! OP would rather see nasty, naked porn than 2 woman sharing an emotional and intimate bond born of love! Seems the issues run deep in OP.

This guy. LGBT communities don't hate Christian societies. They hate homophobes. Bigots. If a member of the LGBT community hates a homophobe that HAPPENS to be Christian, then that's a coincidence and only a coincidence. It doesn't mean they hate Christians. Christianity and homophobia do not go hand in hand. Right? And believe it or not, almost half of the LGBT community identify as Christian.

they want to destroy all morality by brainwashing the young generation toward gay/lesbian tendency in a way that in a few years heterosexuality will be forbidden and looked as weird. The 100 has certainly many teen even preteen fans that are brainwashed
Brainwashing reminds me of Nazis youth...

Are you *beep* kidding me? Excuse my language, but that's just a load of bulls*it. Every single aspect of that sentence. I'm not even going to bother. You are clearly paranoid and delusional. I suggest you seek professional help from a psychiatrist.

reply

See typical answer from a brainwashed dude: auto-victimization + insults + you are right and anyone who doesn't agree with you is crazy (so it put you in a position of superiority)
Nazis will be happy to see how brainwashing works so well.
Oh and BTW I was talking about the free-masons who hate Christianity not the lgbt which is a mere tool in their hands

reply

I misunderstood you then. I thought you were talking about the LGBT community in general. But what you're saying is still crazy talk. Two girls kissing in a TV show isn't going to convert preteens/teens into homosexuals. That's not how it works.

reply

Why teen couples are immature and teen girls jump from a bf to another? Because they are not ready for serious relationship at that age, they are discovering love and sex, every psychiatrist will tell you that. They can absolutely be influenced by TV series when under 18 years old, making gay/lesbo sex look like something natural, cool and even sometimes better than heterosexual ones. While I like porn movies with lesbians I dislike to see the same thing on a TV series that any teen can watch, because normal teen girls won't go watch porn movies or rarely and in secret, while a TV series has the ''on your face'' factor, if she likes the story of the series she will be forced literally to watch lesbian scenes, meaning brainwashing.
Brainwashing has the most impact on children and teen, no need for a PHD to know that.

reply

A tv series with "on your face factors"- my oh my how that must suffocate the masses having something ON our faces like that....

I don't believe "brainwash" means what you think it means. Showing content in a tv show isn't considered brainwashing when it's done within the context of a story and usually- it's for just a moment or so. While I agree that children should not see intense scenes of sexuality of any nature- hetero or homo, I think it's should be up to the parents to decide what their <18 year olds can and should watch.

And also, here's a hint- sexuality isn't something you learn, are forced in to or get tricked in to, it's within the person regardless of whether they realize it early or later. There have been many studies by master's prepared, PhDs and even MDs about sexuality that include everything from genetics to brain structure to hormone levels- so 2 chicks kissing on tv isn't going to suddenly change the minds of millions of teens.

Your homophobia is palpable- we get it....

LOL, I agree with this but try telling it to the Clexa fans who insist that Clarke and Lexa were 'soulmates' and could never love anyone else.

I disagree with everything else you've written.

reply

I am proud to be homophobic then, but then you are heterophobic

reply

How do you work out that I'm heterophobic? Seems unlikely since I'm heterosexual myself.

reply

That is not something to be proud of, nutracker. You can disagree with the lifestyle as it is your God-given right to do so, but having hatred towards a certain group of people is wrong. Many of the homosexuals you feel hatred for are good people who have done nothing wrong to warrant such contempt.

reply

Perfectly stated answer- friend!

reply

Do you know the meaning of phobia before saying things you don't understand?
Phobia = fear of
Arachnophobia for example is the fear of spiders.
Ablutophobia- Fear of washing or bathing.
Acarophobia- Fear of itching or of the insects that cause itching.
Acerophobia- Fear of sourness.
Achluophobia- Fear of darkness.
Acousticophobia- Fear of noise.
Acrophobia- Fear of heights.
Homophobia is the fear of gays/lesbos then, so if the lgbt created this word to target people who don't like them...they created it wrong.
Freedom of speech is for everything, people are free to have their opinions about God like they are free to have their opinion about lgbt, they are not above all and the law last time I checked.

reply

"Definition of homophobia:
1: irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals"

No one made that up on this board this is from the Merriam-Webster dictionary.
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/homophobia

There's no law about having opinions and there is freedom of speech, you're very right. However, there's a time and place and a level of civility attached to those rights and voicing those opinions and utilizing that freedom of speech. There's no reason to appear threatening, abusive or nasty towards someone just because they're part of the LGBT community. Would it be ok if someone were to speak up about the Special Olympics and call the participants a bunch of (insert whatever horrible comment you can say about those beautiful people) and that God punished them and that's why they are like this and they are disgusting and you never want to see them on tv and why are they pushing their developmental disability agenda on us on tv all the time? NO- why, because it's indecent. You can think it, it's your right... but say it out loud- that would just be mean. I prefer to not be mean.

No, there are no laws being broken- you're right. HOWEVER, someone who does such is breaking that little rule of "love thy neighbor as thyself" and "do unto others and you'd have done unto you". It's not a matter of federal or state law- it's a matter of being a decent human. That's all.

"This organism and derivative genetic material is restricted intellectual property."

reply

Of course I do. Did you know gay didn't always mean homosexual? The meaning of the word has changed throughout centuries. Its original meaning was "happy," "carefree," "bright." In the 17th century, gay was associated with immorality. Now in the present day, gay means "carefree," "lighthearted" and it also means "a homosexual, esp a man."

The meaning of words change. Kinda how homophobe today means fear, hatred and contempt towards homosexuals.

From thefreedictionary: homophobe "Fear, hatred, or mistrust of lesbians and gay men."

It's fitting, considering we hate the things we fear. :)

Remember: God is powerful, and he is always watching. Be kind to others.

There's nothing wrong with being straight, but it isn't for everybody. And even if some girls do get influenced to have lesbian sex by what they watch on TV, then what's the problem?

reply

Little girls!
Pedophilia for lgbt is okay, take for instance the French movie ''la vie d'Adele'' who got acclaimed was using 2 under 18 years old girls in very hard sex scenes, if it was an hetero movie it would have been banned and the director went to jail but as long as this movies and TV series serve the purpose of brainwashing the young it's ok! For the story both girls later tried to go on trial against the movie director for the very hard physically scenes they had to endure, but guess what? the director wasn't even put in jail 1 hour.
Well you show pretty well how they already brainwashed you, you attack me because I dared say they are brainwashing the youth, brainwashing is a very dangerous tool in ANY hand.
The difference between me and you is that my eyes are open but yours are blinded by years of TV brainwashing, again I don't hate gays/lesbos, let them have their lives but I won't accept that they brainwash people because free-masons want to destroy the Christian society
Pope Francis own words: “The problem is not having this [homosexual] orientation. No, we must be brothers and sisters. The problem is lobbying for this orientation, or lobbies of greed, political lobbies, Masonic lobbies, so many lobbies. This is the most serious problem for me. And thank you so much for this question. Thank you very much!”

The movie is called Blue Is The Warmest Color, and its star Adèle Exarchopoulos was 18 when it was filmed, and the other girl was around 26.

Wrong again. Even if the actress had been under age, simulated sex with minors is not illegal to produce. This sex scene, while fake, was still pretty explicit, so maybe. But the French are notoriously liberal about these kinds of things so I still doubt it.

again I don't hate gays/lesbos, let them have their lives but I won't accept that they brainwash people

Television is a wonderfully effective means of brainwashing people. I will give you that. But I consider the growing number of LGBT themes in television to be a positive thing.

But, on the other hand, living in a enclosed area in space with limited resources, non reproductive sex would probably be highly encouraged.

I stopped watching after they unnecessarily killed Finn, and brought the space station crashing to the planet.

I wanted to see the 100 battle the elements, deer with two heads, giant mutated river creatures, and attempt at surviving on the planet the were jettisoned down to. Instead, I got a conflict show between two nations. Talk about boring.

Then they turned the most carefree character into a mass murderer killing a village during a time of war and un-ease.

I was very disappointed with the storyline of this show.

SECOND place is just the FIRST Loser.
