Why is she really leaving "Mom"?

I'm not buying the looking for the other opportunities excuse.

reply

Did you watch 'Mom' last night? Unfortunately I missed it so I was curious how did they explain Christy's absence.

reply

I only watch the reruns.

reply

The first scene was her mother on her way back sending Christy to Georgetown on scholarship.

So Anna did not appear at all, not even a send off scene, so clearly she left the show on bad terms.

reply

She wants more money and she hates working with an actually talented actress

reply

Yes, Jaime Pressly is quite talented. And just a bit hotter than Anna.

reply

I meant Allison

reply

Jaimie Pressly needs a nose job stat!

reply

She signed a 2-year contract which the network is allowing her to break and it's very sudden. The real reason must be major since networks aren't that generous. Illness perhaps?

reply

Anna was so Jealous and spiteful that Alison won an Oscar

reply

The reason would need to be serious enough for the network not to sue her for breach of contract and something very recent happening since she quit with little warning. Scripts were already written for the season.

Last time Alison won an Emmy was in 2018. Anna signed a new contract in 2019.
It's common for actors not to like each other or be jealous. $200k per episode with no other job prospects are reasons to stick it out until the end of the season.

Gossip rags used to bribe insiders. No more.

Most likely money. A TV show can only support so many actresses and remain profitable and the cast is growing fast, so I think there is less money for her. I think she did not accept a low ball offer and they say:"OK, the show will go on without you".

Chuck Lorre most likely thinks the show is successful because of him, not any actors. They are all replaceable. Remember he did replace Charlie in two and half men.
