Pretty obvious they try to turn it into The Walking Dead
But, I have to say it's more intelligent in script. Walking Dead's zombies are so brainless and lame that the largest plot hole is that you have to be mentally challenged to be killed by them, let alone all the armies of the world. This has a chance since not only the "zombies" can be more complex, but also it's better explained how the whole thing came about.
