comparison to The Stand (1994)
I couldn't help but compare both TV series. 30 years apart. I read and loved both novels. Part 1 of "Stand" was most excellent. Then it kind of fell apart but it still "stands" above the remake. I had high hopes for "Abides" and gave it 1 episode. OMG, what a POS. I quit in the middle of episode 3. Might re-read the ebook. Nothing there. No character development, no chaos, no cool music (loved Blue Oyster Cult). sad sad sad
