Why didn't they move into a neighbor's home?

Their home was starting to leak from the beginning.

They should have at least gotten onto roof and cleaned off what's growing up there. They never considered that despite all the leaking?!

Though it might have meant a few days travel, they could have moved into another home. That time they drove to town, their dad said something about a neighbor's home.

I do understand, how at the end they wanted to live where they wouldn't be found. And if they were living in a neighbor's home, bad people would have found them.

But, so what are they going to do? Live in the forest forever? In that tree stump?

And will the boy grow up and have sex with his aunt?

I despair, I really do. You watch a wonderfully acted, character driven film portraying the impact a devastating event has on two sisters. All you can ask is 'will the boy have sex with his aunt'? Really? That's what you took from this film?

Really? I question one thing about the film, and you assume that's all I took from it?!

Yes, they made a movie about it too. It was called the Hills have eyes. The Hills have eyes was set in the reasonably far future where the inbred grandkids of the sisters now prey on travelers who have rebuilt society.
