If you were turned off by season one, give season two a chance!
Is it as good as the original? Of course not, but it feels much closer to it. It's probably as good as the early 2000s or 80s version.
Stages in a woke series:
1. Take over some popular franchise or existing series.
2. People who criticize the series are trolls!
3. If you don't like it, then you're a nazi / racist / KKK / incel / manbaby / white supremacist.
4. Please! give us a chance!!
5. Cancelled.
They didn't follow that pattern. It really seems like they listened to the criticism and improved the show.

shareWhat do they do differently to make it FEEL closer to the original? My biggest and really only complaint against season 1 was that it didn't feel like the original at all. Take away the theme song and you'd never know you were watching a Twilight Zone show. It could be any anthology show.
shareIt's hard to explain, a lot of little things. It's more unsettling and not just tackling social issues. The music is more unsettling, and most importantly the characters try to reason out what's going on, why, how?
The characters trying to figure out the situation was one of my favorite aspects of the original.
Not all 10 are great, in my opinion 2 or 3 are very meh, 3 or 4 are ok to good, and another 2 or 3 are excellent.

To the extent Season 2 is political, it's just that the white male characters are douches (of varying degree) and the women and minority characters are enlightened. There's not overt SJW messages like in Season 1.
I agree that Season 2 is much better and feels more like the 80s reboot. Season 1 felt like the 2000s reboot.

Are you trying to say the 2000s reboot is better than Season 1 of the 2010s reboot? Eh..maybe. They at least had the good sense to keep the episodes a half-hour long (if I remember correctly, they would just show two back-to-back) AND they were some passable episodes...I just don't remember any really good ones.
shareThe 2000s reboot was way better that season 1 of this one, IMO. It kind of had that late 90s/early 2000s cheesy TV sci-fi vibe I was a sucker for. So there's that.
That intro in the 2000s revival though. What were they thinking?

shareI'm 6 episodes in and I suspect maybe Jordan's creative rights were taken away in S2, cause now there are white leads and sjw agenda isn't as prominent. So, kudos to that. All in all, it's watchable now - so, I'll have to second the OP's advise. Give S2 a try - it's nowhere near as horrid as S1 - I'd even argue it's not half bad.
