Yeah, the scene where he played the movie for her was touching but... what the hell is it about? I didn't get it at all. And he spent 4 months working on that?
It has to mean something right, it wasn't just mindless geometric shapes dancing around?.. did anybody understand what the meaning was?
The film he makes represents Rachel's illness and how that very same illness (and Rachel herself) changed the lives of Greg, Earl and Denise. You can see that metaphor in the stop-motion pillow sequence, where a big pillow is completely ripped apart and gives "life" to other three pillows. There are other themes, in my opinion. The sequence with the lines and all of them are dragged but one... That represents Rachel's uniqueness. When Denise comes in to see Rachel, worried, the film shows two panels coming closer, shuting the light there is behind them. It is a really powerful scene and you have to read between the lines in order to catch everything. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of things I didn't catch. No only in that scene, but in the overall film.
