Anime vs Manga

So I watched the first season of this anime last weekend. I thought it was really awesome, until I read the manga. Now I wish they had cut out some of the BS they added in the show, and mimicked the pacing of the manga. The animation of the show and the fluidity of the 3DM was awesome, as was the rearranging of where the solider training was, but the pacing in the manga was so much better. Also, just finished issue 35, and I am really curious as to why the anime deviated from the avenue the manga went down for the fallout from the last battle.

Most people I know have enjoyed both the (subbed) anime and the manga. The show actually doesn't have a whole lot of filler, and though some of the content has been changed or rearranged in the anime from the manga, I have found that it does so in order to make the anime flow more properly.

Not sure what you're talking about with issue 35. If you're talking chapter 35, those events take place after the events in the anime. If you are talking about the conclusion of the female titan arc, where it is discovered that there are colossal titans inside of wall Sina, I am unsure why they deviated from that as well as Mikasa is the one who discovers it.

Glad you're enjoying the series. Most of the complaints I've seen are all about the anime (pacing, direction of the story, etc). It all makes much more sense in the manga. While the people who have only watched the anime, they complain that they're unhappy with the series because of Reason A or Reason B. I would be too if I only saw the first half of the show

I prefer the anime because, personally, it looks better and it has that added mood going for it.

I read some of the manga until I spoilt it for myself by reading it through Wikia. Not that it bothered me, I sought out that information myself. I just got to that point where I lost interest somehow.

the titans look scarier in the manga...
