The plot sounds intriguing and epic, and the track "EMA" is one of the best songs ive ever heard in my life. But most anime is just too odd and over the top for me, should I still try this or not even bother?

Difficult to say without knowing what you're into. Just check out the first couple of episodes (avoid the English dub) and see if it holds your interest.

Of course try it out. If you don't like it stop watching. Its quite simple. I for one can't get enough of it.
I just watched the first two episodes and holy sh-t, it's already got me hooked. My only issue is that it's pretty dark and depressing, and I usually need to be in a certain mood to watch something like that. But otherwise, really good!

I'm usually pretty strictly a dub fan, only watching subbed anime if there isn't a dub available, but the English dub on this show is VASTLY inferior to the Japanese version. I could barely even watch an episode of the English version.

Glad you enjoyed it thus far though. It is very gritty, dark, and depressing for sure. Just try not to let you suck you so much that it takes you a couple days to regulate your emotions.

I'll watch sub if it's the only option, but I prefer dub because I don't want to have to read the whole time; Id rather just enjoy what I'm watching.
BTW, did you know they're making a live-action movie of this series? Can't wait for that!
I'm actually pretty worried about the live action movie. One of the things I love about the show is the beautiful animation and style, and the fact that's it's animation allows for some fast paced, crazy action. Most of this will probably be lost in the movie, and will look cheap if it doesn't have a decent sized budget

I've watched both. The really major scenes really aren't nearly as effective dubbed as they are in the original subbed version. I'd try to at least watch some of those things in the subbed version, because you lose something in the English.

If you want to watch it, then watch it. Decide for yourself if you want to watch more. The first episode is pretty intense, so there's that.
