I know and sorry for asking, it's probably been asked a million times but I just binged watched the series on Netflix and am left wanting to so much more (in a good way). Is there a season 2 or OVA that continues the story or is just in Manga/Comic form at the moment?

Season 2 will be released in 2016. Probably around April like the first Season was.

There are 2 OVA's that I am aware of that you should watch as they tie into the main plot, while you won't miss a whole lot if you don't watch them, they still provide some hindsight into some of the current events.

OVA? What does that mean? I also have been watching this series on Netflix and is now on episode 17.
If season one originally showed in 2013 why the long wait til 2016?

Thing is, its an adaptation of one of the Manga Side-Stories that develops Levi's character. I watched myself and they were…okay. I think the Manga version is much longer so a lot was cut I think.
As for the lateness of Season 2…
This is BASED ON A MANGA.
At the time Season 1 was done the Manga was only up to about 33 Chapters which is pretty much all of Season 1.
The Manga is now at 69 Chapters. Chapters come out every month. We'll be on 70 Chapters on the 9th of June.
Point is, the animators/Studio had to wait for the Manga to catch up so they could start creating material for Season 2.
By the time Season 2 comes out the Manga will be on Chapter 80. By the time it ends it'll probably be between Chapters 85 and 87. Not a lot to do a Season 3 anytime soon.
The Creator has also revealed he plans to do up to 25 Volumes. We're at Volume 17 now. At least another 3 years before the Manga ends, hopefully. He's even said that at this point in the story he's done with foreshadowing and explaining and that he's gonna start answering all the questions that have been asked and left hanging in order to wrap it up.

Are you talking about the "A Choice with No Regrets" Parts 1 & 2 OVA episodes? I quickly glanced at the description (didn't do a full read so as to not spoil anything) and discovered it was basically two episodes fleshing out Captain Levi's character. I am currently reading the manga adaptations of these episodes, and there are only 2 volumes in this manga series.
BUT, there is also a very important OVA that is canon that is called Ilse's notebook. I myself have not watched it, but I have already read the side story in the manga so I know it is important to watch. I think the anime fleshes out the side story better than the manga.
