I think the live-action movies are the best version of AoT

I've read the entire manga and continue to follow it via Crunchyroll, and I watched the entire anime series as it was airing on Crunchyroll . But now that I've seen both of the live-action films, I honestly like them better than the manga and anime. If you want to know why, just ask me.

The live action movies that have gotten critical negative acclaimed reviews? Those live action movies?

They're s..t and a disgrace to the source material and characters. It wouldn't have been bad if they'd at least kept to the actual character's developments.

Making Mikasa a typical, scared loving dovey girl is insulting to the strong and at times cold and damaged character she is in the manga. No levi. Replaced by some ass whose a titan instead?

Eren's whole purpose and character being changed from the source material.

The Live Action versions are crap.

Love breeds sacrifice, which breeds hatred. Then you can know pain - Pain

I am yet to come across anyone who's criticizes those movies without focusing their entire criticism on how different they are from the manga/anime versions.

While the manga version of Mikasa is a much better character, I find the live-action films to be better overall. Judged purely on their own merits, they're brilliantly executed fantasy/horror/kaiju films bolstered by unforgettable visuals and brilliantly employed special effect techniques.

I also feel that they make much better use of the core premise, actually going all the way with some of the possible themes that could be explored with this setup. Indeed, the movies are closer to what I imagined Attack on Titan to be about, based upon what I learned about it before I started following it.

And okay, I get that most fans see something in Levi that I just don't, but I still don't. He's basically an adult male version of Mikasa without a backstory, i.e. Mikasa without any of the stuff that makes her interesting. So I wasn't exactly crying BETRAYAL over his absence.

Also, these films actually made me more excited for "Shin Gojira" because Shinji Higuchi, who directed the AoT films will be directing this next Godzilla film's special effect, in addition to co-directing it with Hideaki Anno.
