It's dead already. They encountered it again and is killed by Eren (somehow)No, Eren didn't beat it to death, he did something non physical. Not gonna spoil further though.

The Smiling Titan is still alive in the anime. In the manga, Eren later encounters it, and it sends him into a rage where his Titan power awakens. He realizes that if he concentrates hard enough, he can control other Titans, and he commands the surrounding Titans to devour the Smiling Titan. It's because of this power that Annie, Reiner, Berdtold, and Ymir want to kidnap Eren and use his power for their gain.
