Does Mikasa have romantic feelings for Eren?

From what I saw in the anime I would think so.

We get a couple of implications that she might be. The first is when one of the cadets refers to Eren as, "your boyfriend." Mikasa just shies away and blushes. the second instance is questioned by Levi after Eren is captured by the female titan. She has a look of shock on her face, but doesn't deny the feelings Levi accuses her of.

But right now, nothing has been disclosed and is up to viewer interpretation.

I say yes. But she is too good for him.

reply

Well, Eren is a grade-a jerk at times.

He is a weakling, Mikasa has muscles; she deserves better like a God or something alike.

That is just a saying.

But it is true, Mikasa clearly would not go for any other guy

And she is wrong for doing that.

reply

How? I know Eren is an idiot at times but it is not like he goes around and abuses her. How would you feel if you loved someone but another person says they are not good enough for you? If someone loves another then it should not matter, as long as both people are happy.

I am sorry but love does not work like that. Some believe getting married solves everyone problem's when it does not.

If I told someone I love that person but that person said that so be it, but this is the other side. This is Mikasa on Eren. Mikasa is clearly too good for Eren.

reply

If it is someone she loves then she is not wrong. A person should follow their heart.

"Person A is clearly too good for Person B."

This is a saying used exclusivly by parents who obviously only want exceptional partners for their children but are obviously biased to their own childs value, or by spurned potential partners that feel they themselves are a better choice than the choice made by the object of their affection - in which cased their own self centered bias becomes an issue.

In short, you can never trust anyone that says "Person A is clearly too good for Person B.". They are never objective about it. In any case who is and isnt good enough for a person is up to the two of them and nobody else.

You call that a cameltoe? Put your cheeks into it!

I always took it that she saw Erin as a younger brother

reply

Are you kidding? She literally worships him. Look at Eren's red scarf she has always worn since childhood.
But I agree, Eren is a jerk when it comes to romance.

reply

Mikasa should just go out and tell Eren how she feels, It is very clear she is in love with him

reply

Probably, but I hope not. Eren is a prick.

"All these squares make a circle."

reply

It would make for a funny episode though.

Mikasa is very obviously in love with Eren, but she doesn't understand her feelings. Having lost her family and being taken in by Eren's, she's viewed him as her brother, and doesn't realize her feelings are romantic rather than brotherly, hence why she keeps saying that he's family. She'll realize the truth at some point. Currently, there are 2 spin-off series and a live-action movie of the series where Mikasa DOES realize she's in love with Eren. She just has yet to figure it out in the main anime series and manga, but yes, she is in love with him.

As for Eren's feelings for her, it's up to debate. Right now he's so focused on killing Titans that he literally doesn't think of anything else. Maybe when he pulls his head out of his ass and realizes there's more to life than killing Titans, we'll actually get somewhere. It seems like he just never even considers a romantic relationship with her (or anyone really) as an option since he's only focusing on killing Titans.

On another note, the writer for the manga revealed in an interview that the red scarf that Mikasa always wears that Eren gave her is supposed to represent the Red Thread of Fate. In Japanese folklore, the Red Thread of Fate is an invisible string tied to your pinky that connects you to sure soulmateyour
