Better, as good, or marginally not as good as Blazing Saddles?

I didn't think BL was funny when i first saw it but i was young when it was on tv so the humor was almost completely lost on me. I also thought Young Frankenstein was painfully unfunny, but coulda been for the same reasons (altought, i haven't rewatched the latter).

How does AMWTDITW compare? If not the movie as a whole, how do the indivudusl elments of the movies compare?

I liked this movie, but it doesn't compare to BS or YF. Those are original and pretty much masterpieces.

Seth Macfarlane isn't known for being subtle. At best, you could say this was this generations Blazing Saddles, but I also don't think this movie will hold up the way that one has.

Not as good as Blazing Saddles, by a wide margin.
