Fecking AWESOME movie, but with one major irk [spoilers]
I loved this movie, and I give it an 8.
I would have given it a 9 if it wasn't for the fact that it felt like Seth's character was a time-traveller who for some reason needs to be in 1882. And when the movie starts he's been in 1882 for a few weeks, and that's the reason why he's commenting on how life in the old west sucks, all the time. Most other characters seem to be more "authentically" portrayed. Don't understand why they didn't polish the script more. Seth's "social commentary" jokes felt out of place quite often, again, because it seemed like he had traveled back in time and tries to point out to everyone how awful their epoch is to live in.
This was a huge annoyance for me. But the rest of the movie was amazing. The accurate portrayal of weed anxiety was a fun scene, if you've been there you know exactly how he felt at the time! Anna's high/mindset was also accurately portrayed (can't comment on the hallucinogen trip scene, I've never used whatever that drug was).
Ribisi's character was hilarious, and Silverman was great too.
I don't know if the Native American language was completely fabricated but the way he worked in celebrity names into the dialog was extremely funny IMO (I could make out Mila Kunis and Beyonce but he might have said more stuff).
Doc Brown's cameo was THE FΓCKING BOMB. It's just a shame he was working on the DeLorean instead of a train since he has a modified time-traveling train in BTTF3. Since Seth loves those movies so much he should have kept the lore consistent.
Pretty solid acting all around, with Seth obviously being the weak link, altho he wasn't in no way bad, there were a few cringey scenes/lines.
