Underrated gem from Seth McFarlane
Sure, it's full of toilet humor.
Sure, Seth McFarlane isn't the greatest actor on Earth.
Sure, it runs a bit too long.
But damn does it have a lot going for it.
- Great, throwback Western score
- Amazing cinematography
- Hilariously pokes fun at Western conventions (the duels, the bar fights, a chase, a final showdown, etc...)
- And dirty, funny humor if you like that sort of thing
- Plus Liam Neeson as a truly repellent villain who plays it straight throughout
I personally think this film is an underrated gem and better than anything else McFarlane has been involved in and the huge list of cameos cracked me up. My favorite was Gilbert Gottfried as Abraham Lincoln ("If any man wants to **** me in the ***, I'll be behind the barn!").
