One of the most boring alien movies ever

I get with what they were try to fly with here, and it is an interesting concept on paper, but you could have substituted the aliens with any foreign language speaking people and it would have been the same movie.

Considering it was about another species travelling through time and space to give us the ability to see time as they do and help them in 3000 years time, aswell as about understanding language as a way to build bridges between us, I seriously doubt you could swap the aliens with any other foreign language speaking civilisation.

Brilliant film. Thank god the IMDB boards are closing

Not enough pew pew, screams, limbs rayed off, and michael bay explosions right?

I fell asleep.

I found it drab, dreary, and boring, very rarely inspiring any awe we might have if humans truly began contacting extraterrestrials. It made me miss similar but incomparably better made films Close Encounters or Contact. Why such a dour performance from Amy Adams? This woman never cracks a joke or smiles and never seemed like a living human being to me. I despise also the modern tendency to drain the film of color to give it a dingy, dark, and ugly look that passes for sophistication among some people. I had heard this movie wildly praised, especially by millenials I know. Did I see the same film they did?

reply

Definitely not a film for everyone but was interesting and moving (at the end). I probably won't watch it again.

Arrival is an awful movie.

What a snoozefest! It's so goddamn boring it's insane.

The characters are lame, the plot is awful, the last part of the movie was absolutely pathetic.
