is Kathleen Kennedy Rey??
They say a Mary Sue is a self insert, is this hers? with her ego it would explain everything.

shareI wouldn’t be surprised, Luke Skywalker was an alter-ego of George Lucas (A teenage Lucas), "You can't write a main character and not have him be part of you," Lucas has said.

She is sort of a self-insert, but she didn't have the skills to do it herself.
Kathleen isn't creative talent, she's a gatekeeper & suit who loaded the bench at Lucas with an entire team of SJW story consultants to give voice to her worldview, such as it is.
And the best that they could come-up with is nothing more than the predictable; Rey as the typical preteen feminine power fantasy, a Disney princess & fairy wrapped into a single cliche.
Rey's the ultimate personification of Toxic White Female Privilege (Kennedy & Friends), angry & entitled, of marginal talents usually derived from men, aspiring to unearned, unckecked, and unlimited power.
I suspect Kathleen resents the knowledge that she only ascended the ranks in Hollywood as the used Kleenex of two gifted male directors.
Yeah it would make sense that MaRey Sue is just a representation of how Kathleen Kennedy sees herself.
shareShe is someone all women can relate to apparently.
“I have a story department up at Lucasfilm, and four out of the six people who make up that story department are women,” Kennedy says. “So there were as many women sitting in the room having those discussion as there were men. I think that, in and of itself, is what really began to help [Rey] take shape in a way that was relevant to us. And hopefully relevant to other women seeing the film. I think having all those voices in the room, along with mine, was extremely important.”
Somehow 4/6 + herself means there is an equal amount of men & women in the group ... Rey was developed to be 'relevant' to women in general.

I think what she was trying to say, is that 2 men are as good as 4 women.
Her math may be off, but that also means she is saying that the men contribute twice as much as women - so in reality, the numbers are even.
That's refreshingly honest from a strong independent self-identified SJW like herself.
Na, she's married to a bloke!!! 😁
shareMany people including myself have long voiced their suspicions of this since the beginning. So my answer is probably.
