Rey is officially the worst Star Wars character ever.

It is a crime to hide a weak character behind feminism. Rey is the worst character ever done in the Star Wars saga directly followed by Yar Yar. She hasnt learned anything. She hadnt fight anyone. She hadnt lost at all. She is .... just there. Like a pile of clothing. There isnt the smallest sympathy for her, cause she never had any story arc at all. So there is also no supense when you could see her on screen.

You forgot to mention she isn't attractive and has no tits.... if you want to throw in a female character at least get one that's hot and has some nice size titties... Rey looks to much like a gay man's version of a hot woman - close to teenage boy.

reply

I see. So Ripley looked hot for you :-) . Good characters dont have to look amazing. They have to play amazing and get a good story. Rey neither had any of this features.

reply

Ripley as in the Alien franchise? Not hot, but at least a decent character... if she had been a poor character then she would be as bad as Rey... If you can't make the character worth a flip and are just throwing in a token woman for diversity then you need to make sure she is hot so the males that go to the movie can at least enjoy the show as they wont enjoy the token diversity actress... let's be honest when they throw in a diversity actress it is usually pretty damned obvious.

Ripley is an awesome character. And it shows that neither a man (Christopher Reeve was by faaaaar the best Superman ever, but he looked so average) or woman have to look amazing to become awesome and famous characters.

So that Rey doesnt look that good isnt even a small problem beside the fact that she has absolutely nothing a movie character needs to become a legend. Rey will be forgotten a few years after SW IX came into the cinemas. She is just a plot toy.

Christopher Reeve was a good looking man though.

It's crazy how are perceptions of peoples looks are so manipulated by the media. Crazy protein shake/steroid muscles do not necessarily make a man strong - in our society especially it is often a way to hide insecurity.

reply

You are absolutely correct on both cases. And I just stated, that he looked "average". Not ugly in any way. Sigourney Weaver also dont look ugly. She just look average. And that was my point. That people dont have to look like models for being good movie characters.

But for Rey .... she look average and plays like a doll :-) . She is one of the most miscasted characters of all time. Someone liike young Carrie Fisher should have done that part. That way Rey wont be the most boring and pointless SW character ever.

reply

In the time of Alien, Sigourney was considered a sex symbol of sorts. Thats why she is in underwear at the end, and Ridley Scott wanted that to be a fully nude scene. Even in Ghostbusters, Venkman lusts after her immediately, and Dana is presented glamorously when she is possessed.

She was an attractive woman, but the mop hair was too 70s/80s.

reply

K, seems like their are different opinions when it comes to Sigourney Weaver and Christopher Reeve. My apologies to anyone whom thinks that they are sexy :-) .

Yeah I feel that way about Cindy Crawford and Tyra Banks.

Tyra has a football field sized forehead and bug eyes.

Cindy Crawford was THE it girl of the 80s but her look was always overdone (overcompensating) and she has kind of a mannish face. I never found her particularly attractive. She looks a lot cuter with no makeup and unmade hair in a ponytail or something.

I would have said Rose, as she simply doesn't advance the plot at all.
