1 year later....

Time jump confirmed!!

According to John Boyega: Star Wars: Episode IX take place 1 year after The Last Jedi.

so that means Episode IX is set in the year 35 ABY (after the Battle of Yavin), since both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi were set in the year 34 ABY.

what you think of the time jump? A lot can happen in a year.

reply

I don't get it. How can a year be a time jump? Isn't that a jump backwards? It'll be two years ago and even longer to the first movie in the same time frame when this releases. And all the actors noticeably aged. Sequels almost always allow for real time to pass between release dates. It's all just weird.

reply

you think the time jump is weird? I think the time jump is a good thing. it will gave the Resistance more time to get new ppl to join them to fight order. I don't know about the first order.

reply

I don't think it's a time jump! I think it's a natural time progression like every other sequel ever made. I thought it was weird as hell not to have a time jump with the last movie.

A year? Won't rey have taken over the entire universe by then?

It's only been like 2 days so far .....

reply

Still not enough time with all the changes they are going to have with the characters and the war. I'm tired of stuff just happening over night

reply

Rey? do you mean kylo Ren?

reply

Perhaps in that year, Rey has turned to the dark side and overthrown Kylo.

reply

some fans/ppl thought Rey was going to turned to the dark side in TLJ.

reply

I was hoping for a bigger time jump.

reply

like what? 5 years.

reply

3-5 years....

reply

So basically, all 3 movies take place in one year?

reply

more like 2 years. The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi are set in the year 34 ABY and Episode IX is set in the year 35 ABY.
