A great deleted scene

shareIt could have been good, but it's another joke. Like there's a joke in every scene in the movie. Actually this scene sums it up well. It want you to believe that it's something serious, it starts to build on that premise, than BOOM! GOTCHA! it's another joke. As Rey says: "seriously?" - Just what i'm thinking.
Note: i liked these island natives, and seeing R2 and Chewie with these nicely made non cgi creatures soften my heart a bit.
What actually makes me more sad, because it shows there was great potential in this movie, but fails to deliver. This scene would have been good (and could have been stayed) IF the rest of the movie was good and not fully joke-driven.

why does RJ insist on stupid jokes in pretty much every scene, even when its intended to be serious? this is why I detest him and TLJ
shareThe worst deleted scene was one where Finn is confronted by an old stormtrooper companion with a southern accent. The idea had potential to be a really intense moment. Finn on a first order ship getting recognised by old acquaintances but is quickly ruined with bad humour.
shareI always thought the caretakers were cuter than the supposedly cute porgs.
I hated the movie, but I do like this scene, i don't think it would have changed my opinion of the movie as a whole, though.
The movie was fucking awful, I still cant be bothered to re watch it to this day, so tedious
shareYeah, I'm surprised it took some people 2 viewings to process how horrible it was. It hit me in the opening scene that I wasn't watching a Star Wars movie, I was watching a sequel to Spaceballs
shareBingo, that's exactly how I felt

The movie has no emotional depth because Johnson chose to end scenes with a joke. Not even the deaths register sadness.
