shareThe child slaves helped free the racing animals and in time they will help free their planet of arms merchants and their ill-gotten wealth. They're part of the Resistance - if you undermine or remove the source of arms for the First Order it weakens them. It's an idea anyway...

It's not like there was a plan to free anything. They were just trying to escape at that point. Freeing a few animals and trashing the place were just icing on the cake...Unless you are just looking for things to find fault with

I don't know if it would have been advisable to put kids together with Porgs on the Falcon - an unpredictable result would be forthcoming. If there was trouble you would have the Porgs pointing at the kids with their wings and saying in Porgese "They did it!". Who would be cruel then? ;)

I bet there's a deleted scene where one of the resistance had to be left behind because the ship was full of Porgs.

Porg's are the tribbles of the Star Wars universe. It's how Kylo Ren will be turned from the Darkside, overwhelmed by cuteness. Cue the Ewoks.
sharePedo Hollywood loves their children and using them in adult/mature movies (though some of them are good, it can screw someone over like many young stars in Hollywood).
Don't worry, the kid was given a resistance ring symbol to give them false hopes that they'll ever be free like those pets they released.
