why is this getting a limited release?
correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't every film ang lee made before this get a wide release?
shareThe Ice Storm, Ride with the Devil, and all his foreign language films other than Crouching Tiger never got a wide release.
But it is getting a wide release next weekend (a bunch of high profile films have started limited before a wide expansion) with one theater in NYC (where I saw it tonight) and one in LA getting a one week exclusive window because they underwent a million dollar renovation to be able to play the picture in the 4K/120 fps/3D format it was shot in.
oh right i forgot american sniper, the hateful eight, and the revenant started with limited releases
