This is just a bad movie no matter the critics reviews.

Sometimes movies fly under the radar and you notice critical reviews that are praising the film uniformly and then you actually watch it. I am not sure how this slow moving, tedious, utterly laughably bad written and directed movie gets even one good review. The worst part is to make up for the completely pointless and meandering first 100 minutes we get the most utterly vile and uncreative low level Eli Roth torture porn in the last 20 minutes. Almost as bad as the Revenant but at least I could laugh at how stupid that movie was for entertainment. Not here. Just one of those movies that makes you hate directors, writers, producers and movie critics for stealing 2 hours of your life that you can never get back.

Agreed. This was a bad film. I got hyped by the indie critics giving it raving reviews 6 months ago. i finally watched it. I don't know what the hell the critics were talking about or how much they got bribed. The only thing this film had going for it was I guess originality as far as western genres go. But the story, narrative and even acting was quite bad. I can't believe Kurt Russell and Patrick Wilson were in this.

Can this really be the end..to be stuck inside of mobile
with the Memphis blues again.

I enjoyed it but you're right the movie is a slow burner with lots of character development and dialogue. Then BOOM it turns into something quite different. I didn't mind it though, it kind of made the actual fights and brutality all the more savage (pardon the pun) when you contrast it. It's far from a perfect movie though and definitely could have sped up some parts (especially all the rambling from the old man)

I suppose were all entitled to our own opinionss however i completely disagree with everything you said about the film...i thought it was brilliant. I went into detail on my posts.

I quite enjoyed it.
It held my interest throughout, and i felt the finale was a fine pay off.
