Yea I think she was just pausing to think about it and count them up...I don't think they liked white women. However when she hesitated to kiss her husband cause of the thing he used to whistle, I was thinking he should worry about all the dicks she had in hers.

She does say "at least 12..and two pregnant females". So she must have seen those two unfortunate women at some point. Maybe she had been raped and once she's pregnant they cut off her arms and legs and put out her eyes? Or perhaps she knew this would eventually be her fate...

I wondered that after seeing the dead pregnant woman. I was wondering if I missed something

reply

They weren't dead. They were wiggling.

reply

I don't think she was raped

What movie is that dialog from?

reply

It was suggested she was raped by them, I think. Which adds another perspective to the end: what if Mrs O'Dwyer is pregnant with one of the troglodytes? Somehow the last scene from Polanski's "Fearless Vampires Killers" comes to mind, with Evil disguised as Good and spreading throughout the world .

holy reach, batman

what if Mrs O'Dwyer is pregnant with one of the troglodytes?

The "troglodytes" were not a separate race from AmerIndians, but were simply a nameless clan that lived in that cave area and degenerated into cannibalism with probable inbreeding. In their seclusion they developed some kind of vocal organ in their throat, but that's the height of their genetic difference to their Asian kin (keeping in mind that all AmerIndians emigrated from Asia via Beringia thousands of years earlier). So, if Mrs. O'Dwyer was pregnant and had the baby it would simply be half-Caucasian and Half-AmerIndian, just marred by hundreds of years of inbreeding and perhaps strapped with a curious vocal organ.

Never even crossed my mind?

WHY?

SHE STILL HAD HER CLOTHES ON!!!

There's no reason the Trogs would let her keep her clothes on, and no way her clothes would still be wearable post-rape, considering how animal those Trogs appeared to be..

No offense, but...

The sex scene between the O'Dwyers made it clear that this movie was NOT afraid of nekkidness for nekkidness' sake... so, if she'd been raped, she'd just be nekkid now...

she wasn't... nothing had been done to her... or at least, not yet, anyway

But seriously, her being raped or even molested hadn't even crossed my mind. Her clothes were in perfect condition, that was clear when they got out of there. And since Nick was shown 110% naked (Jeebus, we almost got to see that actor's nutsack for Christ's sake!!!), and the actress was already naked in the sex scene, it's clear this movie was not avoiding ppl being naked. So nope, nothing had been to done her... yet, anyway

reply

She was walking too straight when she left the cave so I doubt it....

reply

I thought that she had, for the reasons stated above, and also because she said "Oh no, not him" when (I think) the Troglodyte with the tusks was approaching - like she had a particular fear and loathing of that particular guy.

No Guru, No Method, No Teacher.

reply

Her response could be like this because she witnessed the death of the first man by Troglodyte with tusks and when he returns it means that anyone of them could have the same fate.

reply

Can't say with certainty either way but I'm leaning towards no.

When asked if she was hurt, she coldly said "I'm alive." That could suggest something had happened to her, or maybe she was just thinking of how the other man had already been eaten.

Otherwise her clothes looked pristine and she didn't seem to have any bumps or bruises you'd expect from being ravaged by savages.

I think the reason for her slow response when asked how many men there were was more because she was very emotional at the time.
