So the poor pregnant women ?

Assuming All the males were killed, what happen to what was left of the women ? They were too badly mutilated To fend for themselves.

Guess they couldn't be saved, but so they deserve to Slowly starve to death ?

Lol, animatronic puppets don't die or get pregnant. But if real, they'd died off. Should have killed them not to suffer but then again- they saw enough carnage.

reply

I saw it as, for whatever reason (perhaps stated earlier as not being able to bring themselves to kill a women or child) they didn't kill them and as such a new generation of the tribe would be born. They failed, out of choice, to eliminate the threat/bring themselves to equal levels of barbarism.

reply

How would they be able to care for themselves let alone their kids?

Yep - Samantha had commented they were deformed or something like that. If the med had to resort to cannibalism, seriously doubt the women being so weak could handle the wild any better.

The deputy had commented that he couldn't kill women and children. I think the scene was a nod to that.

reply

I don't think they are supposed to fend for themselves or their kids. They are clearly just baby making machines. Perhaps the tribe eat the babies?

reply

I wondered that also - would the babies be eaten? Or raised? There was one younger cannibal, I think the one who's throat whistle got removed, he was clearly younger than the others. But I just can't see toddlers toddling around that cave. And if they were girl babies, I'm thinking the women just get eaten or used as baby factories. Why wouldn't there have been adult female cannibals?

reply

They are credited as being played by real people.

They were part of their clan. *beep* em.

reply

As likely they were captives or the tradition of mutilating the women started with captives

There is an unspoken reason Samantha knew exactly how many adult males and had seen the women

reply

They were probably abducted, as was suggested by the Native-American guy. Also they can't do much of anything with their arms and legs cut off and horns punched in their eyes to make them blind.

Left for death with no hands, or feet, or eyes and with children on the way shortly while also starving to death and no means of getting any food or help.

Killing them would have been their most sympathetic faith but I can imagine our protagonists did not consider that while in haste to get the f out of there. So even chance of a merciful death was not possible.

Truly horrible.

We follow a ***Christian*** God. HE has no sympathy for bloody, heathen, savages. They must be left to the cruel hand of nature.

I'm sure that sounded very edgy in your mind.

hehe brilliant - but sounding like a looney nut job to rest

I assumed they left them there for Hunt to... enjoy 'til he died.

reply

I dont know how you people think this, but i think this way. How i will act and how i interpreted why they did not kill them.

I will not kill them even that i want to, because it seems horrible to let them die of starvation, BUT, i will not shoot and probably dont even stop just to think what should i do, because nobody can be sure how many of those things were left, they assume there was 3 but there could be more, even so there is only 3, by shooting again, you compromise your position, and in that moment when you try to escape i bet he though, "lets just go, we can afford to let them now we are going this way" and after everything i dont blame him if he has not much sympathy left for them. And in that moment its instinct, so he probably thinks about that later, that perhaps he should have done something about it but for the better chance of survival and taking no chances, the best way is to GO and let them be. Even how horrible that may be. So its not about who deservs it, but about survival.

Here's my question about the women that seems more important that how they die...

Chicory told Hunt, even if done correctly an amputee has a 50/50 chance of living. Someone please explain to me how the troglodytes amputated all four limbs on both women, without antiseptic, having no medical training, in that dirty, unsanitary cave and both women lived?

reply

They didnt amputate. They tied off their arms and legs so they lost circulation, and then cut off the dead limbs. Veins are dead = no blood loss

reply

Like that guy who was rock climbing by himself and got his arm caught between rocks. He amputated it himself and didn't die. That's pretty gruesome.

reply

Would even that procedure be known to troglodytes?

reply

You assume that they only did that to two women and they both survived.

Also, the party of 3 survivors had to flee the cave, not knowing how many cannibals were actually left, since Samantha only could tell them what she counted. They didn't have time to stop and cleanse the gene pool nor to be overly concerned with the futures of these women. Starving to death would be a mercy killing compared to what they had gone through in their lives.

I did find it odd that Samantha wasn't raped, didn't get her hair messed up and that she would set out on a long walk without having eaten in maybe 5 days. She didn't seem affected at all by what transpired. They were out of water, Chickory was injured and Sam's husband barely got there in the first place so making it back on that bum leg would be a real task. I guess it didn't matter, as that plight seemed like heaven compared to what they were going to face otherwise.

reply

I think you've stumbled onto the truth.

Samantha got to do a headcount and see the pregnant women at some point. Let's say she got a private meeting with the trogs and realized this was her best chance at getting away from the town of idiots and her idiot husband. She convinces the chief that she'll be his queen but they'll need to play along for a bit and pretend she's a captive in case any would-be rescuers are on their trail.

They eat the guy they originally came for and thump the deputy on the noggin so Sam can eat in peace. Guy has no idea he's in a cell with a traitor.

There's actually 50 trogs, she took a while to answer with 12 because it was a lie to keep the Sheriff clueless about the strength of Queen Samantha's new kingdom.

Just after the credits start, her tribe catches up to them and gets rid of that troublesome husband once and for all.

reply

well, for one, he was talking about amputating limbs from someone who had some existing ailment going on (e.g. broken leg going gangrene), so that would complicate factors. Two: they could've gone through a whole bunch of women before they got two that survived.

You'd feel cocky too if you were full of myself.
