So how many clueless people are going to think this is a kid's movie?

I can just see so many clueless people think that this is something with kids, bring their kids, and then be surprised? You know, the kind of people who don't research what they are watching, don't check out trailers and assume a 'kids' movie should be fine.

reply

You're an idiot. michellelcalvert has a point. Those are the same people who then come on to forums and boards and whine that it isn't for kids. Well duh!

reply

That's not even what he said. God, two idiots in one spot. This is why iMDb is fun.

reply

What he said is that people dont do research on what they watch and he's absolutly right with that. You are probably one of those idiots.

reply

ok this post is retarded, if you don't think they will notice they are getting tickets to and r rated movie... or that the stupid movie poster with obviously mutilated zombie stick figures .... ive NEVER heard of anyone taking kids to a movie based only on the name...without seeing the poster.. or hearing about it from anyone.. that's just the dumbest *beep* thing ive ever heard. My bet is 0, 0 *beep* people will do that by mistake.

reply

you seriously seriously underestimate how stupid some middle- american filmgoers can be

some people have even taken their kids to stuff like Saw not even knowing what it was about. yes, those people actually exist.

reply

My grandfather's wife went to the cinema with her friends to see Ted, because they thought it was going to be a lovely innocent film about a sweet talking teddy bear... around the supermarket scene, they walked out in dismay.
Don't underestimate peoples incapacity to DO THEIR BLOODY RESEARCH.

reply

That's a bit different than taking your kids to an R rated movie.

Jesus, I think some people get excited about how stupid they hope people are.

reply

Hey IDIOT -- "Ted" is rated R!!!!! LOL, SMH, wowwwww -- Personally, I don't "...get excited about how stupid I hope people are", I just literally get (semi)excited over showing the TROLL of the thread how much of a "stupid" "idiot" the first to reply to OP was....And thennnnn how much said person kept having to try and prove his point (of putting down the OP, for literally no worthwhile reason) throughout the entire thread; all the while just making himself look more & more IDIOTIC as he went on.

reply

There's a difference between adults doing to a movie they have no idea about and parents taking their kids to a movie they have no idea about. It's not apples and apples.

Well, I did see a mother bring her two kids to see the "cute talking teddy bear" movie. She walked out after about 10 minutes. And she was mad at the theater owner for not telling her it was an R rated movie. Like that is somehow his job to parent her rat babies.

reply

My aunt got "Ted" as a gift from someone. It just had a teddy bear on the cover. The person who bought it for her never saw it before. I lived two years without watching TV or going to the movies, and I moved in with my aunt briefly while my house was being set up on my acreage, and I saw it on her table, and she went to visit family in Miami, and I watched it and when she came back from Miami, I asked if she had watched it yet, and she said she didn't. I told her what type of film it was and she was surprised. So, she let me have it. Apparently the person who bought it for her just bought it because it had a teddy bear on it. Didn't bother researching it, at all.

A few years ago when I saw Ted in theaters there was a mother that brought her children to the "cute teddy bear movie" and was appalled. I was appalled by her bad parenting, but that is a discussion for anther day.

I agree though, this thread was pretty unnecessary. The OP was getting mad about something that hadn't happened yet. Life is too short for that.

reply

Parents took their 6-9 year olds to see Deadpool. They took the kids out of the theater after the opening 5 minutes. Then they complained to the theater and demanded their money back. Parents just won't do their research sometimes.

reply

Why would anyone think that a film called DEADPOOL would be appropriate for children? It has "dead" in the title.

reply

People can just be that retarded.

reply

Never seen or heard of this movie before. I saw the name on Scine, saw Elijah Wood was in it, I recorded. I thought, at the moment it was a kids' movie but then I came here (before watching it) to see if I had already seen it before and just forgot (I have seen a lot of movies) and read the synopsis. Still, based on the synopsis, still thought it was a kids' movie then I read the rating and then came here to the message boards.

Doesn't mean I was idiotic, just means when recording it, reading the name and synopsis, I didn't get enough information.

Actually there's only just one in this spot, and I agree IMDb is so much fun, especially when you're around...you make it fun for all the people here :), I hope people like you keep on existing

reply

I feel your pain.

reply

you are the stupid one,
many people end up taking their kids to the wrong movie. sometimes parents barely know what the movie's name is... there is always that someone that just buys tickets to whatever is opening that weekend and go in without knowing much about it.

jesus you are stupid

reply

That's not at all what the OP is referring to, but - sure - I'm the idiot.

Except... it is...

I have read the thread up until here and have to say that you, Sir, have dumbed down the conversation every time you appeared in it. Every single time.

One can only hope it is on purpose.

My immediate first impression was "Shawn of the Dead at an Elementary School".

reply

Seriously. The mom of one of my high school friends took younger siblings to "Fritz, the Cat" because she thought it was a regular cartoon movie.

reply

Oh, I know people who took their kids to see Akira when it was on limited release because it was a 'cartoon'. I'm sorry but the majority of parents are not the brightest bulbs in the box when it comes to movies.

Hell when Hellraiser II came out I saw a bunch of dumbass parents with their kids. Do not underestimate the stupidity of the human race.

reply

These Parents are Bad Parents.
These Parents has same 40 IQ with Mama June Family

reply

The "majority" of parents? Not much into hyperbole, are you?

reply

People really are that stupid. I heard a girl at work one day complaining about her kids seeing a penis in a kids film. That film was Watchmen. She said she was disgusted they would show a penis a kids movie.

reply

Interestingly enough, she managed to sit through a pretty violent attempted rape scene before even seeing the penis in question, yet she stayed still thinking it's a kids movie. It's an impressive feat.

People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs

reply

First you will have to explain to me how parents will get their kids into an "R" rated film WITHOUT knowing that the film might not be appropriate for their kids.

reply

People who rent movies, watch movies on demand, on Netflix or other streaming services or just download their movies from whatever source aren't always paying that much attention to the age ratings. Especially when they let the kids choose the movie for the night while they themselves are more occupied with instagramming on their phones.

reply

I used to work at a movie theater and one of the biggest issues that I noticed was parents who don't do the research and don't understand what the ratings actually mean. The problems arise when parents let their children pick what movie they go see. When Resident Evil came out we had numerous parents try to bring young children just on the basis that "video games are for children and it is based on a video game." They would then come scream at the employees for letting their children see such a scary movie despite how many times we would explain that it was not child appropriate.

I saw a woman take two kids, who couldn't have been more than ten years old, to go see The Green Inferno. I started thinking "Lady, this is the wrong type of movie to be taking kids to".

Well, I'd say it probably will be done when it's done,
but that's only an approximate guess.

reply

Well junior and baby boo enjoyed it, junior junior slept through most of it though, maybe he'd have enjoyed it too if he'd been a bit older, like 1 or 2.

reply

Same thing happened with Pan's Labyrinth because the trailer showed a little girl with fairies. Of course then there were the people who didn't know it was not an english language movie. Honestly it the perfect example of different ways people don't do the research.

reply

I can just see so many clueless people think that this is something with kids, bring their kids, and then be surprised? You know, the kind of people who don't research what they are watching, don't check out trailers and assume a 'kids' movie should be fine.

It's a film about flesh-eating zombies.

Even if it's meant as a comedy, why would anybody assume it's a kid's movie?

reply

Maybe they've never seen the trailer, or read any literature on it and are going solely by the title and that Elijah Wood is in it.

If the only information you have is: it's called "Cooties" and Elijah Wood is in it...wait...brb...

Okay, I just spoke to my mother and asked her, "What type of movie would you consider a film called "Cooties" be and it stars Elijah Wood?"

With just that information, she thought it was a kids' movie. She's into action films (Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal etc.,) I asked if she wanted to watch it she said "no". Not her type of movie.

The ultimate movie where parents thought it was a kids movie to me was still the South Park movie. I saw it twice and watched at least 4 parents take their kids out of the theater after the first 10 minutes between the two shows. The parents were clueless about the show and didn't realize the movie took the show and went extreme times 1000 lol.
As for this movie, I had never heard of it but saw it free on demand on Sci Fy. The description didn't make it sound like a kids movie but it didn't make it appear as gory as it really was. I didn't know what to expect but saw the cast and gave it a shot. I watched it without my kids first and glad I did now, as they were too young for it.

reply

This movie is not for children. It contains graphic violence (mostly of zombie kids biting off fingers and snacking on intestines) and strong language. I have spoken, have a nice day!
