2nd viewing with my girlfriend was hilarious, especially the love scene.
I sat up late watching 'Mr. Turner'....and I kind-of enjoyed it. Great scenery, paintings, Turner and his father were interesting and funny to watch, etc. I can see where some would find it boring though.
Then the next day, I played about half of it for my girlfriend. I started with the love scene. That was great. Then we watched it to the end. I found myself loving it more and more....while she thought it was crazy. I kept telling her that it's a movie for intelligent people lol. I was joking....but in a way it's true.
I found myself loving the fact that it was different than all the other lousy boring movies about early 19th century Europe. Every other movie has modern-day Hollywood starlets, beauties, that just throw-on a costume and expect me to believe they're from early 19th century Europe. It's so bad....it's to the point now where as soon as I see a model-looking chick in a movie like this, I flip it off immediately. Usually inside of 5 minutes.
'Mr. Turner' was different. Every character looked like they belonged in this picture. The 2nd viewing really grew on me. I rate it an 8/10.
