Don't know if anyone else has noticed the disclaimer at the end of the movie with regards to the smoking depicted in the film, something to the effect that the smoking was an artistic choice and that the filmmakers in no way are promoting the smoking of tobacco because of the dangers involved. This apology made me laugh out loud. With all the films depicting drug use of every kind, with many a film promoting and endorsing usage, this disclaimer appears fraudulent and disingenuous.

I find it funny too.

Yeah it's OK to depict drug use, violence, etc in films...but smoking needs a disclaimer?

And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.

I fear the day is coming when older films (Bogie, B. Davis etc.) will be altered to remove the offensive image.
