How Accurate Is The Movie About James Brown Life?

Warner Bros./DC getting it wrong since 1992

The film focuses mostly on Brown's relationship with Bobby Bird and covers Brown's life from his childhood til the early 80s. It doesn't go too in depth into Brown's marriages or family issues.

I can't say for certain how accurate the film is. No biopic is 100% accurate. Things are always embellished for dramatic license.

From what I've heard (and I'm no James Brown expert), what's shown is fairly accurate, though it does skip or overlook some pivotal moments in James Brown's life. Just not enough time to cover it all.

Skip over is an understatement. This film was not viewer friendly. It was pretty hard to follow the plot. I mean, I know the plot was his life. But for someone who honestly didn't know much about James Brown, I still feel like I don't know much about him after watching the movie...
