I think you've confused the actresses. His Aunt Honey was on the bed with him, but only when he was a child. The only other person on a bed with him (that I recall) was his wife DeeDee, played by Jill Scott.
Regardless, when a mother and son are sexually involved, it's incest, not an affair.
thank you for your answer, ShadyKay. you are right about about "incest" and i am sure you are probably right about me confusing the women. i kinda thought that maybe she was not really his mom and maybe a stepmom and incest seemed too strong for that situation. james was a very sexual man and there were lots of things in his life going on past and present that he may have rationalized it in his drug induced at that time mind. (the lady said she was his mother cause she carried him. she talked about how beautiful he was and they were standing on the bed. he gave her $100 and she left.) i will watch it again if i ever get the chance.

You are confusing TWO DIFFERENT SCENES! James gave his mother $100 dollars back stage after one of his concerts. This was her first reappearance into his life after having abandoned him as a child. Go back and watch that scene. She showed up at the concert and visited him back stage. He vented how hurt he was that she didn't care about him...and how she left him. She explained how she didn't know how to be a wife, and never wanted to be a mother; but she still CARRIED him full term until his birth...as a mother should. She proceeded to cry, and he comforted her and gave her the money to make her feel better. Just before leaving...she stopped in the doorway...and told him that he was pretty, that he was beautiful.
The scene with him standing on the bed.....is with his wife Dee Dee, played by Jill Scott. Standing on that bed they proceed to seduce each other.
