Season 5?
Think BB99 will get a season 5? I think S4 has started off very strong and an improvement over S3. I know people are worried about the ratings and the fact that FOX doesn't own the show.

shareI think if it gets cancelled, it might get picked up by Hulu. It got a syndication deal for five seasons so I think they will make it to that point in some way or another.
shareThis is the worst season yet, new writers it seems or a new show runner. I see one more season and then its over.
As we grow we learn, i have learned that if you don't like me grow up or ignore me.
This is definitely the worst season, though it's had a lot of great moments.
The ratings are on the bad side of the line. This isn't Mindy, this is worse ratings wise, so I think a Hulu pick up isn't likely if FOX passes. I'm disappointed the show's not making it right now, but I won't call it out for a long time. Right now, I'd say it's on the bad side of the bubble. Any lower, and tears can be shed. Any higher, it will probably return.

I've been thinking the same thing. I just got into this show earlier this year, buying each season and catching up till now. I've loved every season and thought it only got better. Some people thought season 3 was the worst ever, but I thought the exact opposite. It's my favorite yet. You get to see a lot of character development from Rosa and progression in Jake and Amy's relationship.
When the premiere came on some weeks back, I had high hopes for a climactic end to the Figgis ordeal, but it just fell flat for me. I'm usually not one to poke and prod, but it just wasn't what I expected. Don't get me wrong, I've laughed at some cute moments so far, but it seems to be missing its usual charm. The weird Charles' kid thing. No chemistry between Amy and Jake. Where is Pimiento? Just off to a really slow start. I liked the Halloween episode the best so far. But it's like someone else said, it's almost as if there are completely different writers or something. I don't know.... I just hope it doesn't get the axe. I think all sitcoms have slow moments and they each deserve a chance to flesh things out. This is one of the very few television shows I still look forward to in Primetime and have actually taken to in quite a while. I hope to Pete they don't take it off the air....

The creator of the show is now doing The Good Place on NBC. The creator of the show left Parks and Recreation to do Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I liken this season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine to season 5 of Parks and Recreation. It's still a good show, but not as good as it was. I don't know how much of that is affected by the new show, and how much his involvement dropped on B99. Either way, just prepare for the show to get canceled, and there's no chance you'll have any disappointment if it does.

I haven't heard of the The Good Place, but that could explain why this season's off to such a slow, awkward start. He may be the glue that holds it together....

I don't think any comedies tend to remain as high quality when a creator leaves to focus on other things. A notable exception is Veep, which was outstanding with David Mandel running the show after Iannucci left.
When it comes to comedy, it's very important to understand pedigree. If a person was involved with at least two shows you liked, you should give that person's next thing every benefit of the doubt. Try to get through 3 or 4 episodes of The Good Place. If it does nothing for you, you probably shouldn't continue. I think it's the most together of any of the creator's shows so far out of the box, so that means it has a ton of potential. Parks and B99 were complete messes that had a ton of potential in season 1, and you probably saw how well they turned out.

I watched the Office once several years ago and decided I hated it. Tried again two years ago and ended up falling completely in love with it. I thought, what the *bleep* was I thinking giving up on this? One of the greatest shows ever. So I learned my lesson there.... Also, I should point out that not only watching more than 1 episode helps. After you do this, you should begin from the pilot and continue in chronological order. It helps with continuity and learning the characters.
Once I knew some of the same crew from Office worked on Parks, I had to watch. I would've been a fool to quit it at the pilot. It turned out to be one of the best comedies of this decade. A friend recommended B99 and I was instantly hooked. I often sit around and wonder what other jewels I'm missing out on from sheer stubbornness or just oblivion.
I worked on the DVDs for The Office Season 1 and 2, and really didn't like it at all. Then, the next one I worked on was season 5, and I really liked some of the episodes on that one. People said it got tame, but I think taking a slight bit of edge off the show made it better for me. The final season was pretty weird, but I think I watched it from season 5 to the end.
You should definitely check out The Good Place, since you love every show the creator's been involved with.

I can 100% see someone not getting into the Office until its later years. I don't really think it found itself until around season 3 or 4. 1-2 can seem a bit too unnecessarily dark and dreary to most. And at times it's so over the top, that it only appeals to those with a particular type of humour. Michael Scott either makes or breaks the show for most. Once I figured out how to take his character I was able to enjoy it much more. Dwight could possibly be my favorite comedic character in television history. I had rapport with so many of the characters so.... If you say I should like The Good Place I'll definitely give it a go.
shareI was sold on The Office when I saw the Dwight and Andy Cornell episode. That was elite comedy, and I told myself I would give the show another shot after that.
The Good Place isn't a slam dunk for you to like, but I'm giving at a long leash. It's probably my least favorite of his shows, so far, but I still dig it.

It is almost a certainty that it gets a Season 5. They just signed a syndication deal with TBS for the first 5 seasons. So unless the ratings tank, it will be back. Next season would be the time to worry about it.
shareThe ratings have tanked, but that certainly gives it more hope. Are you sure about it being TNT? They don't run sitcoms. I'd believe TBS.

Yes. You are right. It is TBS. I will change that.
shareI still think it's a brilliant show and one of the top shows I anticipate watching. The entire cast is just solid and I used to not really like Andy at all before I started watching this. I don't find this season to be bad or anything less than it has been, but then again I'm not so cynical. If I can pass 20 minutes of time and enjoy myself than I can't judge it too harshly.
