So, as i understand serena's dad ratted out luca and he gets busted. But why wasn't serena convicted for not disclosing the facts. The proof that he had originated form serena and it was inevitable that her name pops in during investigation.

I'm not an expert on Italy's laws, but could it be that she wasn't convicted for being underage? Or maybe DINO (now rich) hired a great lawyer?
Regardless, it should've been explained in the movie.
She was not underage: in Italy you cannot drive if you are underage.
Also Dino says that he would give the evidence to the police.
I would also says that Serena should be in trouble, but think about it: she didn't says anything that was not true, she simply didn't say something.
Probably lazy writing. I can't imagine Italian law accepting that if you technically didn't lie, you're okay. She didn't disclose information and the consequence could have been an innocent young man going to jail (Massimiliano).
But I imagine she would have gotten a short sentence anyway so it doesn't ruin the whole story for me.
