It is interesting that. . .
. . . a movie that is almost nothing but people talking in a courtroom is more engrossing than almost everything that Hollywood puts out these days, but nevertheless that's the case.
I watched this one last night and, despite its utter simplicity, I found myself engaged the whole way through. It reminded me very much of 12 Angry Men in the way that essentially the entire plot unfolds in one room with people doing nothing more than having discussions with one another. It really makes the viewer stop and think afterwards about what it is exactly that makes some movies engaging and interesting and others unengaging and boring.
This is a fine film for William Friedkin and Lance Reddick to go out on.
