Santa Removed His Beard During Parade??

I was really liking this movie - cute couple, nice plot, good setting, good conflict and conflict resolution. I really thought it was a cute film right up until the last few minutes. Then, during the parade the male lead, playing a last minute Santa, takes OFF his beard. DURING THE PARADE. IN FRONT of the children. And the planner, who cares so much about the parade and all the kids who love it, SAYS NOTHING?? WTH?? Ugh, that totally ruined the other 98% of the movie because that was so out of character with anything that happened up to that point. It's so out of character with either of the two leads. It was ridiculous.
Whoever wrote that, and whoever approved it, deserves with Santa's whip. Bah Humbug on the writers.

Exactly what I was thinking! They could have waited until the parade was over to have their moment. But in front of the kids during the important parade...?!

If I were those kids who standing in front of this Santa I would have been shocked. It was just wrong! Santa was kissing a woman, how weird is that lol

I concur. That did not ruin the rest of the movie for me, but I was like, "What the...."

Well, if any of the kids that she spoke to earlier in the movie saw that, they would know, "Oh, that isn't the real Santa...just a stand in while he gets things ready at the North Pole."

But you all are right, they should have done a slightly different ending to keep both leads in character.

I agree. Who would have Santa take off his mask in front of kids? And I completely missed the impact of the kiss because the surprise reveal.
