First of all let me say that I think Denzel Washington is a fantastic actor. But this remake had no soul to it. In the original remake, the bad guys were bad, but they raided the village for a reason. They were starving bandits and needed the food.
Here the bad guys are just evil. They aren't even intimidating. There was no suspense and some of the dialogue was cringe worthy.

At least Denzel needed 6 other guys to help him kill about 200. In the Equalizer, Denzel was able to take out 20 highly skilled and strong Russian bodyguards at the end of the picture, with no help. He's just a badass. I'm sorry but a middle age man couldn't take out one of those guards, let alone 20.

I not asking for realism. After all we escape to go to the movies, but how about Denzel takes out 3 Russians, not 20. And maybe the more then magnificent 7 kill 30 bandits.

Obviously they did not see it. And why would these actors be spinning in their graves? Most actors look at their movie projects as just being a paycheck because this is their job.

By my reckoning, this is the fifth remake film Denzel has been in, maybe he just loves being in remakes?

I guess in the remake they have to go bigger, more explosions, more bad guys etc etc...otherwise whats the point?

Actually, what is the point of a remake anyway?

This movie is horrible in every way possible...Denzel is a good actor yes but he should stay clear of Fuqua who is one of the worst and most overrated directors around...havent made one good movie except training day thanks to Ayers script...
