Enough Already

Fuqua should not be given anymore blockbusters. To say the least, he's a disappointment as a director. They will continue to give him blockbusters though because he's black and heaven forbid any criticism is dropped on a black man nowadays. He's riding the success of Training Day all the way to the bank, but we all know what made Training Day good and it wasn't him.

Except TD sucked and most of his other movies have been good. There. Different perspective.

reply

Which of his other movies did you like. No worries, I'll wait until you look them up

reply

I liked Tears of the Sun, Training Day (despite Ethan Hawke), and South Paw.

There are lots of reasons to like a film.

TOTS is not a serious film, its pulpy emotive, but the action is ok, the chemistry is ok, and the jungle is pretty.

I remember TD being a good film. Only saw it once.

And I thought South Paw was alright.

I liked his other films less, and found Olympus has Fallen largely unwatchable.

I've been saying that about Jew comedians for a decade: enough already.

*beep* this sellout

Get over your racist self.

There are a handful of black directors, and how many are consistently bankable, or have worked on a BIG film in the last year.

This is the criteria for getting work, not that he is black, but he is making and understands big movies.

You might as well say the only reason a particular female director gets work is she is a woman.

Or an Asian.

You look at the numbers of non-white, non-Jewish, non-male directors directing BIG films in Hollywood and it is a small fricking list.

Agree with you dannygoodlet2....this was another horrible movie made by the talentless hack Fuqua who got lucky with one movie and that is TD and only thanks to Ayers good script and a Denzel in his prime back then.
