the painting is packing them in, in NYC

I was in Manhattan yesterday and took the opportunity to see the real painting features in this movie, which is in the Neue Galerie at 5th Ave and 86th St. Due to the movie, the gallery is drawing crowds. I waited in line about 45 minutes to get in. One of the docents said they never used to see crowds like this, especially on a Monday. This is the effect of the movie.

The gallery has some others Klimts, as well as several sketches Klimt did for this portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer. I noticed that the diamond choker that was also stolen by the Nazis and given to a commander's wife, Adele is wearing in the portrait -- I don't remember if that was stated in the movie or not. One thing I am sure was not in the movie: Adele had a crippled finger that she was self-conscious about, which is why she is posing with her hands in that awkward position.

FYI, if you decide to go, the museum is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They have gallery tours Friday - Monday at 2 pm.
