Well it is an interesting point you make. And truthfully there is a certain similarity about her acting in various roles. So I though a bit about other actors who have been held in high regard over the years. People like John Wayne, Marlon Brando, Cary Grant, Al Pacino, Tom Hanks, Jimmy Stewart, Morgan Freeman, Audrey Hepburn, Jodie Foster, Diane Keaton, Judi Dench, Julie Andrews to cite a few. And when I think about their roles I have seen there is also a certain sameness about their acting style.
So I guess that isn't necessarily bad because they are generally effective. The real test is if we begin to think less of the actor and more of the character as the movie progresses. If we do then their acting is effective.
There seem to be just a very few actors who can show lots of diversity, actors like Daniel Day Lewis, Meryl Streep, Charlize Theron, Hilary Swank, Marion Cotillard, Dustin Hoffman, Christian Bale, Gary Oldman to name a few.
