shareFunny, I had watched "Brooklyn" earlier the same day and the boss there seems to have gone to the same school of management as this one! I think it was just a scolding time where young women were always being treated as if their very essence was wrong. Those department stores have an image and the managers' job is to shame the shopgirls into embodying it, I guess.
